General Discussion / ....was worried about endoscopy.....

An endoscopy is a procedure whereby they put a long tube down your mouth that goes into your stomach.
They spray the back of your throat with something to prevent the gag reflex.  The end of the tube has a tiny camera and tiny tweezers for taking samples of bad stuff.

Anyway, I've had 4 of them years ago with no (!) anesthetic.  (no, I'm not Chuck Norris.....LOL)

I was planning to get one with an anesthetic today, and I was worried I'd be staggering around like a drunk afterwards.  The handout they give you says "don't take a bus by yourself."  I took a cab, and the hospital is close.

Maybe the gastroenterologist adjusted the sedative dose because I told him I took a Clonazepam yesterday?  I didn't find the sedative (Valium via drip?) that strong, but I still feel something 12 hours later.


Anyway, all went well. 

Should anyone be getting the procedure or a similar one in the future, if I can handle it....so can you.
I know it sounds creepy, but I find giving blood samples more creepy, actually.

See first page of this site.  I only learned about this show recently, as I was depressed.  I'm usually one of the 8 or so "graduates" that does 2-3 warmup jokes, but not this time - I think they have 8 people already.

General Discussion / Social Phobia Group Closed.....

  The social phobia support group started by Earla Dunbar (look her up - she's famous in the mental health community).  I forget the exact name, but maybe their site even closed.

However, the other social phobia support group (lotsa members) is still around.  I forget the name, but they often use one of the MDAO rooms, but they aren't part of MDAO.  The head of that group is "Rama."

Earla is a nice lady, and a pioneer.  There are awards named after her.

More to say later......My gall bladder is back to normal (?).  But maybe there is something still wrong with it - I'm going back to emergency to find out, just in case.

I'm impressed how the hospital gets the blood and urine tests results so fast.
