Hi, Paul....He's doing o.k., but I'm surprised he doesn't have the kind with brakes and baskets to store stuff.

I don't know if leukemia is progressive:  the person that has it gets worse and worse?.....or can the getting worse be stopped.
Not sure how much his chemo helps.

Wow tough issues.
My 22 year old is type 1 diabetic too.
Its so hard to step aside as a parent when they get old.
His dad has mental illness and I am stressed so he has learned to take care of himself.
Take care.

General Discussion / heart ailment...
« Last post by Pleeb on February 03, 2020, 03:31:58 am »
Found out I have atrial fibrillation a while ago.

Quote
Atrial fibrillation is an irregular and often rapid heart rate that can increase your risk of strokes, heart failure and other heart-related complications.

My nurse practitioner found out accidentally when she was checking my chest.  She then sent me to Emergency (St. Mikes - 5 minutes away)

This isn't something I noticed myself - I noticed a rapid heartbeat the odd time....didn't think anything of it.

An "ablation" cures this, and 99% effective.  You can do it with local anesthetic  :o or general, whereby you're out like a light.

The ablation is a few weeks down the road.

Heart ailments don't run in my family.

Peter

I have to learn to take my own pulse ::) -  I never have, and I don't know what's normal or not.

Saw my brother the other day, and he was using a walker for the first time!  :(  He uses the plain aluminum one, not the one with brakes, and a tray to hold stuff.

Thanks for the reply. We got his meds to him and he is now home with one less toe and they are still watching two other toes. I can only hope that the care after will be ok. No home care he has to go to them but we are working on the positive side he is home yah.
