I agree Lucky Lou! I was at the worst time in my life when I thought all was lost .. I remember looking up at the sky and saying "I refuse to accept this reality! My life cannot suck this much!!!! I am luckier than this!" ... and voila, I meet Rich and my life did a 180 .... sometimes horrible things happen to change up things for us so better things can come along .... and saying f*ck it can just make it bearable until things turn around! I haven't read the book obviously and may be missing the point but it sounds like a good read

That's great Lucky! Nice to hear I am not alone I will never forget in one of my manic hospital stays .. one of the first, I was totally disoriented, wondering how I ever got there, wondering what was happening and crying myself to sleep and all of a sudden I felt what was like a big wing covering me, making me warm all over. It was very comforting.. I will never forget it

LOL Paul, well if we ARE considered normal then I guess its the rest of the world that is crazy .. but then again .... hmmmm....

I guess as long as we are medicated we are good to go! Although you are right ... Rich does leave some raised eyebrows .... but he is cute and I can't resist him!

Rich forgot to mention that WE did meet at a get together as well! So they seem to be good times! I look forward to our next get together! I just wish we all lived closer it would be nice to meet everyone... perhaps one day they will have star trek transporters and we can all get together (see? there is MY crazy coming out!)

Dancing in the Rain I can handle! When is it going to get here? I am tired of this snow! I can't complain tho ... this winter is gracious compared to last winter, so I feel blessed, I will take the cold anytime over all that snow and ice!

I am learning about Angels, it may not be everyone's cup of tea and I don't want to start a spiritual/religious controversy over this, but for me, it gives me peace to feel like I am not alone and that I have some celestial help .... it has lifted my depression to feel like I have angels who have my back! Any internal worries I have, I ask my angels to handle it for me and I stop worrying about it ... until the next worry pops up then I do it over again ....

IT may sound "froo froo" to some but hey it works for me I am already pegged as a crazy so what's another label? I can take it!

I agree with Lucky Lou, we are all insane in our own way, heck the world of people is insane, my dad always told me that people don't wake up in the morning thinking, I will do my best to do bad today, that people are inherently good, so I agree with Paul too, Human nature is a weird thing.

We are all messed up because we have no bearings and only can rely on what we are taught by others for our own moral compass. As babies we are taught what is right and wrong and we are at the mercy of our environments, that dictate our reactions which dictate our behaviors when presented with different stimuli or situations.

I think all we can do for ourselves are to learn who resonates with us and do ourselves and other people a favor and not mess with those that we don't resonate with. It would be nice if we could all just get along wouldn't it?

Normal is a matter of someone's view.. what is normal for one person is not normal for another. Therefore there is no such thing as normal, other than living up to another person's expectations, who views themselves as "normal".

I am happy to never be classified as "normal" I want to dance to the beat of my own drummer thank you very much!

I am still waiting for a psychiatrist, and my anxiety is getting worse, its getting so I don't or can't go out. The thought of getting in the car now that its winter, all these scenarios of cars sliding into us or us sliding into cars, gets the better of me, and even when the roads are dry, I find the anticipation of having to drive has me nervous. I just want to stay home and have Rich stay home where its safe, but that isn't possible.

When I do get a psychiatrist is there other medications other than pams for anxiety? and does it really help? It would be nice to get something that I can take and drive, as with pams I can't drive when taking one. I have never had anxiety before the last year or so, so this is all new to me, its due to the topomax I am taking but the topomax is controlling my weight, so its hard to let go of that.

UGH!!!! I just don't know what to do.. thanks for listening!

Yes that's the hard part, losing a good job, however there are more jobs out there, I firmly believe in the adage, when one door closes another door opens. I have faith that you will find your way.

I had to have a lot of determination, I was 50, I agree at that age, its hard to find work, especially when you are depressed, but you have to give yourself time to heal. That's where progress place helped me. I am a graphic artist and am lucky that I can work from home.. I am slowly getting back into work now with some clients but I keep it to a stress level that I can handle.

Isn't it amazing how the years creep up on us Peter? I just still feel like i am 25 and when I think of being 52 I think man, I can't be that old ! but then again it doesn't seem so old now that I am here! I hope  your age doesn't feel that old to you! You are how you think!

Young thoughts keep us young! I am still immature for my age thank Goodness! and i want to stay that way! I never saw any rule books for how to be in the 50's and if there was I would probably burn it!

Lucky you didn't come off as harsh! You only expressed your appreciation and passion for Freddie, I only wish I had had the experience of seeing him live! It was a great loss to the music industry when he passed! He was an amazing artist!

That's ok Dragonfly there is no reason to apologize or feel badly about that, I never got to know a lot of music or musicians myself, back when I was young and Queen was most popular, in my household any rock music was not tolerated by my dad, so I only learned about Queen and Freddie Mercury in my later years ... but I do know quite a few songs from the 60's and 70's that was considered "main stream" I too never got into following a lot of musicians or bands, I only knew what songs I liked and rarely did research into the bands or singers ... to each their own .... I am sure you have plenty of other interests ... that's what makes each of us interesting and unique! Plus we can learn a lot from each other!
