My oldest brother is 75 soon!
« on: February 16, 2015, 03:19:43 pm »
I thought he was gonna be 74 - same difference.  My older brother is one year younger.

My two younger brothers jokingly won't tell me their ages when I ask....I have to look it up.

I'm lucky I have good genes....my oldest had a mini stroke a while ago....hardly any other ailments.

Re good genes, both overweight, smoking German parents lived a long time - father 76, mother 88, but both died of Alzheimers...as did my aunt.

BTW, German=eat meat, sausages 20 times  :P a day, plus my father worked in a butcher shop.

Re ailments, depression, social anxiety in the family.

Some new age-related and not jokes from class:

SET UP: I’m getting a piercing....unusual for my age I know....

PUNCH:   Now, I just have to choose which wrinkle to put it on.

SET UP: I’m turning 68 in June.

PUNCH:   Time to switch from Green Day to Doris Day!
(or "time to start saying:  "you call that stuff music?"

SET UP: I need something to make me relax.

PUNCH:   Something that isn’t addictive like benzos.
I might start smoking weed again.  Is it still $15 an ounce?

(not approved by class/mates yet...if they like it)
SET UP:  I get my prescription meds from Big Pharma – the pharmacy in the Manulife Centre.

PUNCH:   I get my (blush) other medications from Small Pharma –
Skinny Pete, who stands on street corners:  “What do you need, man?”

Isn't it amazing how the years creep up on us Peter? I just still feel like i am 25 and when I think of being 52 I think man, I can't be that old ! but then again it doesn't seem so old now that I am here! I hope  your age doesn't feel that old to you! You are how you think!

Young thoughts keep us young! I am still immature for my age thank Goodness! and i want to stay that way! I never saw any rule books for how to be in the 50's and if there was I would probably burn it!

Happy birthday to your Brother!

Soozan, I've never thought my chronological age is really me.

I'm still a kid....I have zillions of props and knickknacks, a lot of which I bring to classes/groups.

67 year olds aren't usually interested in buying blowguns.....LOL....

I was gonna buy one on the net from the U.S., but you can't import them into Canada, also other places.
I just wanted one for a laff......they even had a small apartment-sized one - I could off fruit flies with it....or try to.  ::)

Peter, It is great to be a kid at heart. Would a pea shooter do instead? My husband talked about how his family and him would have pea shooter fights. Even his Mother who was a character would join in. I don't know much about pea shooters.
