The Mood Disorders Association of Ontario offers free peer support and recovery programs to people living with depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder. We also offer support for family members.

A self-help group offering group support to share ideas, information and experiences. Group support for family and friends, support to help alleviate the feeling of being alone, resources and information regarding treatment options both traditional and alternative and ongoing emotional support.

Youth Living Well - New Group

Youth Living Well is an interpersonal skills-building group for youth and young adults aged 16-29 who are affected by mood disorders and related issues. This open-ended group meets twice a month and focuses on relationship issues with immediate family members, friends, and other close supporters. 

Youth Living Well incorporates facilitated peer support, discussions, and group exercises centered around topics such as: stigma, assertiveness, active listening, and personal boundaries.

Peterborough Peer Support Group: Peterborough Family Support Group

The Peterborough Family Support Group takes place on the thkird Monday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at 568 Charlotte St.

Whitby/Oshawa and Region Peer Support Group: New Beginnings Peer Support Group

A drop in peer support group whose purpose is to provide support, education and information to those affected by bipolar, depression, anxiety, and other mental illness. Let us help each other in a safe and comfortable non-judgemental environment for all to learn to cope one day at a time. All are welcome to attend. There is no need for prior registration and there is no cost to attend.

Hamilton Peer Support: Mood Menders Support Services

Meetings for both individuals with a mood disorder and their supporters are held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesday of each month.  Sharing coping skills, providing support and networking with others facing similar challenges.  See the attached brochure for details.
