Youth and Family Early Intervention Program Coordinator

About me…

I am a mental health counsellor and coordinator of the Early Intervention Program at MDAO. Through use of a client-centred, strengths-based, trauma informed approach, and skills in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and group facilitation, I support individuals and families affected by mental health, addictions, and symptoms of psychosis.

What I do…

In my role at MDAO, I aim to support youth ages 14-35 with new or recent mental health issues as early as possible, and provide youth and their families with support, education, and resources to meet their needs. The earlier the intervention, the more likely one is able to achieve meaningful results, and family members are able to better understand and support their loved one.

I provide individual counseling to youth and family members, and facilitate groups such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for depression, and an Early Intervention psychoeducational support group for individuals and family members. My vision is to ensure that persons affected by mental health and their families receive the support and empowerment they need on their journey of recovery.
