General Discussion / Re: Anxiety is getting to me ....
« on: February 23, 2015, 06:19:48 AM »
Hi soozan I can so relate to u my anxiety gets so much worse in winter too especially around being in a car being in four accidents will do that. My pdoc  has me on gabapentin and that has helped immensely. He has also recommended cbt. As Paul has. It's expensive but I am considering it. My doc keeps telling me to challenge my thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Easier said than done! The good news is that spring is only a few weeks awAy. I hope u find the help u need.

You have nothing to apologize for I like your posts they make me giggle

No need to apologize. I hope I  didn't come across as harsh. I am very much into music but not everyone is and that's ok. I would love to meet up with everyone too but I live too far away. Maybe one day I'll go to Toronto again so I can meet everyone.

Thanks sooan and dragonfly. Queen is my favourite all time band and that is Freddie Mercury who I had a massive crush on and we did indeed lose him much too soon.

I think. Everyone judges other people by their looks it's just human nature. I too am fat and feel judged all the time. I wasn't always like this I was beautiful once which makes this all that harder I used to turn heads but now I am invisible. It doesn't help having siblings who are skinny and attractive according to society's views. I need to work on my confidence and I am my worst critic too. My partner says he still loves me but I don't believe him. If we met now I don't think he'd give me a second look. And I swear. They make clothes smaller now! Anyway I know society. Doesn't cosider me beautiful anymore but I am working on recognizing my inner beauty

Hi.  Messe I don't live in your area so don't know what volunteer opportunities might be available. I have returned to work after being off at least once per year for the last 7 years, it's not easy but it can be done.  I wish I had something encouraging to say but everyday is still a struggle for me. My advice is to find something you like to do and to start back slowly like maybe part time to start. It won't feel like work then. I've been fortunate to be able to return to my same job every time I have been off. I wish you luck

Hi I feel u totally! In the same boat! I have no motivation lately either it's all part of this disease I try to just focus on one day at a time as cliche as that sounds I also like to break things down to smaller steps and I find this helps fool me into thinking i have accomplished something and this in turnmotivates me to do more . I also challenge my thoughts constantly. I also tell myself that there is. Always tomorrow I am full of cliches today!

Hi I can understand your feelings and it would be awkward having him there but like Paul said if this becomes a long term thing you may have to see him. It will be hard but you are a strong person I'm sure you can stay calm for the sake of your grandchildren. I will be sending u positive vibes and hugs

I agree with Paul and dragonfly u did the right thing for yourself so don't beat yourself up about it. I am learning my limits and sometimes taking a time out is the best thing to do for me. I am learning not to feel guilty about it. It's easier said then done I know!
