Hello NeitherHereNorThere and welcome to the forum. Please feel free to ask questions, answer other people's questions, use the forum to vent out a few frustrations and/or post an interesting article.

In regards to romantic relationships, I know one couple who met in Penetang Mental Hospital while both were undergoing treatment. I spoke with them last mth and they are still together nearly 20 yrs later.

There is also a couple that post on here. They met at one of our get-togethers in T.O. and I and some others who post on this forum were privileged to attend their wedding a few years ago.

She's a real sweetheart, but I'll never know what she saw in him. LOL  I'm allowed to say that, every time he sees my wife he asks her" you know he's crazy don't you". LOL.  Actually they are a very nice couple. Take Care. paul m

Hello Paul. There are many reasons why people are uncomfortable with spam. Some of it can be very real looking and ask you to click on a link. I myself post many links and people click on them all of the time.

However if some one clicks on a spammers link a virus could invade your computer. That virus could damage your computer and/or milk it for personal information. It could also cause your computer to send out emails or send out spam on it's own. Those are the primary reason why any reputable place tries to control spam. Take Care. paul m

Hello Paul. None of the following is a criticism as I understand your frustration. Nor am I saying the system is right, I'm just trying to help you understand the system.

As frustrating as it is, it is up to you to get your doctor to complete the claim forms correctly. Some docs are good at this, some are lousy.

As I said, getting all of the forms filled out can be really frustrating. The forms would be difficult if we were well, when we are sick it's seems almost impossible.  Something as simple as the doc not filling out his qualifications will disqualify you. (they usually have a stamp for this)

Whenever I have to send in forms to any company I try and get my doc to let me review them first and when possible to make a copy of them. That way I can try and catch any mistakes and I also know what the insurance company is talking about when they ask for more info or claim the info is wrong.

When they said they would contact the doctor directly, they were trying to be helpful, they could have just said no as it is yours and the doctors job to get the forms filled out correctly, not their job..  That is standard throughout the industry(once again, I'm not saying that this is a good system, just how things are). It is part of every doctor's job to fill out insurance forms. If a doctor refuses to fill out a form correctly for no good reason they can be reported to the college of phys and Surgeons. I would only do that as a last resort.

I don't know if you have seen a GWL report, but here is a link to one.http://www.greatwestlife.com/web5/groups/group/@public/documents/web_content/s7_031629.pdf   They have a variety of forms there for different illnesses and some information for both you and the doc.

In it you will see a statement that goes something like" please provide copies of all relevant clinical notes etc etc.

Once again you shouldn't get caught in the middle, but your doc should also know better than to say, "my notes are my notes"

Good Luck with your claim. Take Care. paul m

Hello Paul. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience and I agree that some medical people are in it for the money. However do not give up, there are many in the field who are dedicated and helpful.

When I was really ill, I found that I had to sometimes control my temper and try and find out the best way to get the best possible services. That's not a criticism of anyone, as I too was very frustrated at the time and lost my temper more than once with the system. I still get frustrated sometimes.

Same with programs. Often the programs I took were an 80% waste of my time, but I did learn something that helped in the other 20%. That may not be fair or right, but that's the way it is. Of course I've taken other programs and gotten a lot out of them.

I hate paying for paring too. However the few times I have visited someone at Southlake I never paid anything as I have always found parking on a nearby side st.

For anyone having to go to Southlake go to their website and look up parking they provide full rates and a list of nearby private lots that are cheaper than at the hospital.  There is one about 2 blocks from the hospital that is 3 bucks a day and another one is 5 bucks per day.  Take Care. paul m

Hello JennyRN70.  Through some miracle  my relationship has lasted, but it has been tough at times and I know that a mental illness is tough on a lot of relationships.

I can appreciate just how much money problems causes problems, without all the other problems factored in.

I don't have any really good advice, but have you tried applying for Canada Pension Disability(CPPD)? It is not income or asset related the way ODSP is. In fact you can be a millionaire and still qualify for CPPD.

If you want to know more about CPPD, just ask. Take Care. paul m

Hello Everybody. Spam is always a major pain in the butt for any forum. If we make it too hard to register, then nobody signs up. If we make it too easy, then you get tons of spam. I know that Daniel and company(MDAO) are working on coming up with a happy balance.

I remove spam as fast as I see it and ban the user and I'm in the process of clearing out some of what appear to be spammers who have signed up, but who haven't posted anything yet.  However it is a slow process because we never want to block anyone who may be in need of help, but who decided to use a name that looks a bit odd. Take Care. paul m

Hello Dragonfly. I agree with your points on camping and I don't know why I can't relax like that when I'm at home either. One thing that is starting to annoy me are the people who insist on leaving their campsites lite up with bright lights all night. There seems to be more and more people doing that. As a night owl I enjoy the darkness and the stars. The raccoons really don't seem to mind the lights. Lights on or off the little bandits will steal you blind if you leave something outside LOL

In regards to de-cluttering your house. When you get done yours will you come and do mine. My wife and I say " ok let's get rid of this junk"  and we do a great deal of moving it about and sorting, but nothing ever seems to actually leave the house LOL.  Take Care. paul m

Hello Dragonfly and Peace, thx for the best wishes. It was a vacation and we did go camping, but it was close enough so that we could see our brand new and very first Grandchild.  We had three great visits and got to babysit one night while the new Mom and Dad rushed out and had a quick dinner together, before they rushed back. (not that we did the rushing, but new Mom's are so protective of their week old kid LOL) Take Care.paul m
