Peggy Mulligan, FCA
Ms Mulligan is a chartered accountant, having been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2003 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the accounting profession. Peggy is a senior leader with deep experience in multiple industries including banking, insurance, energy, automotive and pharmaceuticals. Ms Mulligan is currently a member of the Board of Ontario Power Generation, where she chairs the Risk Oversight Committee. Previously, Peggy has held numerous corporate executive positions including EVP and CFO of Valeant Pharmaceuticals, EVP, CFO and Treasurer of Linamar Corporation, as well as EVP, Systems and Operations and SVP, Audit and Chief Inspector at Scotiabank. Peggy was also the Audit Partner and leader of the insurance practice at Price Waterhouse.
A few of Peggy’s many business achievements include leading the first and largest outsourcing contract in Canadian banking infrastructure, creating and implementing merger and integration strategies and implementing programs to achieve multi-million dollar synergies and savings, co-lead of the Biovail/Valeant merger, designing the integration activities of the merged company, and driving numerous major acquisition activities. Peggy is a seasoned financial expert, having been CFO of both a dual listed pharmaceutical company and automotive manufacturing entity.
Peggy’s extensive community service includes acting as a Governor of the University of Waterloo, a Trustee at the Ontario Science Centre, a Governor of Appleby College, Director and Treasurer of the Donwood Institute, Member of the Entrepreneur Council, University of Waterloo Accelerator Centre, General Manager of the Toronto Aeros Girls Hockey, and Treasurer and Director of the Credit Valley Golf and Country Club.
