Touched By Fire Emerging Artist Recipient Featured

April Mansilla was one of more than 40 artists from across Ontario who had her art work on display at our Touched By Fire Art Exhibition and Sale, which took place in early December. April was thrilled to be part of the show. She was even more thrilled when the Touched By Fire judges gave her the Best Emerging Artist award.

Now, April and her work have been featured in the Hamilton Spectator. The article talks about Aprill's art and its relationship with her bipolar disorder.

Supporting a loved one during the holiday season

I am the new Family and Youth Coordinator for the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario. My role here is to provide support to families that have a loved one between the ages of 14-35 who is showing signs of a first episode of psychosis. I provide education, counselling, information and referral to families in group and one-to-one situations.
